As Caitlin grows older, her tolerance to stay up late increases but nevertheless, not that late. It was just a couple of days back that Caitlin just absolutely refused to go to bed and Yuli went to bed instead whilst Caitlin stayed up with hubby and I.

Hubby was on the laptop listening to some music on his earpiece and Caitlin wanted to listen as well. So, she climbed onto the sofa and sat with hubby listening to the music.

Next thing we knew, she fell alseep like that!!!!

Hahahahahahahahahahahha.....................it was absolutely hilarious looking at her leaning on hubby falling asleep though she continuously claimed that she was not sleepy at all.

Happy Birthday to Me

Muahahahahahah........I turned 35 yesterday. A very humbling experience to turn 35. Damn!!! I am already 35!

Well, it was a quiet birthday. No big hoo raa raa. Just stayed home and chilled. Hubby was out attending a 2 day convention. So, it was just Caitlin, Yuli and I. I cooked dinner for us.

I had gotten a lot of well wishes and; friends and staffs alike had given me wonderful presents. All I can say is that I was real touched that so many people remembered and sent me well wishess through every possible channels of communmication.

Here're some of my pressies. Thank you to all of you who have blessed me with your well wishes and the wonderful pressies. I loved every single one of them!!!!

The 15 Days of Chinese New Year

Hhhhmmmm.....Chinese New Year. Nothing out of the ordinary happened for us. The usual Reunion Dinner but this time round, I cooked for my family and invited my parents inlaws to join us. Decided not to join either my father or mother. So I really cooked a storm. A 6 course Chinese dinner. Goodness! It was fun!

First day is the usual visit to dad's place and mother inlaw cooked 2 dishes for my father. It was a quiet and nice day. I can see my inlaws had a good time. Peace and quiet at our house and away from all the noise and pomp can be refreshing some times. And my mother inlaw gets to rest whilst I will be the one doing all the cooking.

I was back to work on the third day of CNY and it was great for its peace and quiet. Hehehehehhehe.....

Fifth day was CNY dinner with my mother at the Lake Club. Food was good though I was too tired to eat much. I guess the lack of sleep and lots of work to catch up on took its tol on me.

Sixth day of CNY, Angela who is Caitlin's godmother came over for dinner and I cooked. First time she got to really taste my cooking after 17 years of friendship. Hahhahahahahaaha.....she now wants to cook for her mother!!!

Took the ninth day off since I was at dad's place to 'Pai Tin Kong' which is a very important occasion for all Hokkiens. It is even more important than the first day of CNY.

Fifteen day of CNY coincides with Caitlin's Chinese birthday as she was born on Chap Goh Mei 5 years ago and I make it a point to cook for her yearly on Chap Goh Mei. She actually celebrates 2 birthdays a year. One on Chap Goh Mei and another in March.

Missing Workout Sessions is No Joke

It's been over 2 months since I went for my workouts. I normally attend 2 or 3 times a week of classes at True Fitness. It can be BodyStep, BodyJam, Hot Yoga, BodyPump, etc but due to work...Yuli back to Indonesia for a holiday, the festivities, I had not been for the classes.

And only today was my first day back and I had BodyStep. OMFG!!!! I nearly died of a cardiac arrest. My stamina is literally down the toilet now and it's going to be anightmare building it back up. Damn! Damn! Damn!

Lesson learnt, never go off workout for such a long duration. Hahahahahahahaah.....because you are really gonna suffer like me! I am not aching though but my stamina is really gone.

So, I will really need to put the effort to at least exercise 2-3 times a week and not miss classes for over 2 months.

Hhhhhmmmm......peace and quiet for a bit. Hubby and Caitlin have gone to fetch my parent inlaws for a Reunion Dinner tonight at my place. Just finished with all the cutting, chopping and preparation of the ingredients for the cooking later.

This is my first attempt in cooking a traditional Chinese dinner. A 6 course dinner to be exact.

Well, it's gonna be a yummy dinner!!!!

First Week Back To Work for 2012

OMG!!!!! It's been an absolutel CRAZY week back to work. I wouldn't say that things were in chaos in the office because it wasn't but I was just so darn busy.

All of sudden, I need to pack up my office stuff because we're all moving to another floor by the end of the week and by Tuesday, I am told that it is not happening probably until after Chinese New Year and everything has been dumped into cartons and the utter nightmare to dig things out!!!!! Aiye...absolutely frustrating.

Then, I realised that I have to relieve Eddie as the ME Head in his absence without warning. Pooh! As though I don't have anything better to do and my workload is already crazy. Sigh....but looking on the bright side, I should be honoured because my boss thinks so highly of me to relieve Eddie. Hehehehhehe....This would be the third time I relieve him.

Next, I had to push my people to complete their own appraisals and complete their one downs! It's amazing how one needs to be constantly pushed and nagged. Well, at least it got done, right? I, too had my own appraisal and thank goodness, it was a good one and that my boss had charted out my career path for the next 24 months. And from the looks of it, he has one heck of an expectation of me. Ooooooo......

On Wednesday, I had to rush off to Singapore for a 3 day SME SEA Regional Conference in place for Eddie ato represent ME and boy was my head boggling with information. It was a good 3 day but nevertheless scary looking at the 2012 numbers. Hhhhhmmmmm.....well, this is not the year to rest on my laurels but push my people to the best abilities.

Got a chance to meet my Specialist Head of Singapore. Looks like only Malaysia and Singapore has Specialist Heads. That's Gina Lim, the Singapore Specialist Head.

Got back to KL on Friday night and on Saturday, it was getting this and that done. It's amazing because I slept 12 hours straight on Saturday night and today was the usual Sunday School for Caitlin and then lunch and now only am I getting some quiet time to chill and read whilst Caitlin's at her godsisters' house playing.

Hheheehehheheheheheehhehe.........see what I mean? It was indeed a crazy first week back to work and the weekend was no different. :D

Blissful & Grateful

Aside from Yuli been home and helping me which is already a blessing, it is just nice to be home sitting around and pottering around the house. I have just been out so much with Caitlin over the last 3 weeks with her cooking classes and taking her wherever she wants to go; we're only home later in the late afternoons or sometimes late at night due to hubby's yearend family and relative dinners.

So, it's just nice to sit around and prepare for the upcoming week. Every one is safe and sound. Hubby is busy in the study room don't know doing what with the computer. I guess he finally decided to make use of the study room for his work as well. I sometimes wonder how he manages to get things done sititng at the sofa and meddling with his computer whilst the tv is blaring....hehehehehhehehe....I at least am sitting at the dining table and compared to hubby, I concentrate better. Kekkeekekekekekek.....yes...yes...yes...I am been very cheeky here but it's nice to have him around during humanly hours because he's been out so late having meetings to make this 2012 a fantastic year for him and the business. And you know what, he will!!!!

Caitlin just went upstairs to sleep.....after playing with the phone and watching endless of Disney Channel....me just blogging and of course clearing everything for work and getting things in order.

Just cooked for the family as well and am glad to do so and look forward to cooking more meals for every one compared to last year which was a crazy year. I hardly cooked last year, more like I hardly tried many new recipes. So, at least 1 to 2 new recipes a month shouldn't be too much. Hheheheehheheheh......

Things cannot be any better than this. This is what I call peace............and happiness.

Caitlin's Sunday School

Caitlin today started her Sunday School. Well, as Catholics, it is compulsory for Catholic families to send their children for Sunday schools from as young as 5 years old but most of the time, it is a lot of fun and play for these younglings.

Today was aboslutely crazy at St. Thomas More Church. Every parent was only today registering their children even myself. It was just major commotion seeing all the parents going haywire and there were just not enough people to help out to register these poor parents. It was total chaos and to be honest, I was quite amused because I was one of those chaotic parent, too. Luckily hubby was keeping an eye on Caitlin as she was just so eager to go for Sunday school though I am not because I will have to wake up early every Sunday to sit there and wait for her. Sigh.....the responsibilities of a mummy. Hahahhahahahahaha.....

And the best part is that Isabelle and Sarah, her godsisters are attending school there as well so, it makes it more bearable and it's nice to have Sunday lunches together and Caitlin gets to spend time with her godsisters and godparents.

Well, I am not sure if there will be a need as the classes seem to be too little with too many children attending Sunday school and it may end been split into 2 different classes at different times to accomodate to all the Sunday school kids.

If that happens, I may think of volunteering as a Sunday school teacher. It is a way of me giving back to society and at least have some time to pass. Let's see what happens.

Yuli Returns

I am absolutely ecstatic and I am sure I can speak for Caitlin as well. Yuli came home yesterday. Why I say home? Because this is very much part of her home as well as ours.

She returned yesterday night and I could never be any happier and grateful that she returned though she did mention that her children were so very upset which is understandable but I had offered to take in her kids for a month holiday at my place if they would like that as well as still send her home during the Christmas holidays. Caitlin was literally clinging on to her like a koala bear. Hahahahahahahhahahahahahahah.......the little girl was just so very happy to see Yuli and vice versa. Over time, Caitlin has just been like a daughter to Yuli as well.

So, tomorrow it is back to work and the rat race. But honestly, I do miss work and I always thrive with all the office challenges. Nevertheless, I am also very glad to have spent these last 3 weeks exclusively with Caitlin as well minus the cleaning which I totally detest! Who doesn't???? Haahahhahahahahahaha.....it is the time that Caitlin and I get to bond as mother and daughter; and it is absolute fun to be with her.

But all said and done, I am glad and blessed that Yuli returned and that she is here to help me managed the house.

The Year Starts Off with Such Excitement

When I look back at yesterday....I can only laugh whenever I think of it. It was just hilarious.

Went for my usual session with Hari and when I left his place with Caitlin, I accidently went onto one of his small curbs on the way out. And lo and behold the curb caused both my front and back tires to puncture beyond repair. Managed to get myself to the closest petrol station and thank goodness for the petrol station owner who got me his friend who owns a tire shop to replace my tires. But......instead of replacing 2, I had to replace all 4!!!!!!! What the heck!!! Well better safe than sorry since I drive Caitlin a lot in my car and her safety comes first. It was such an adventure with Caitlin sitting in the petrol station and enjoying and ice cream whilst I was sweating bullets outside in the hot sun.

While that was happening and me getting 2 spare tires to be replaced temporarily to get myself to the shop to change the tires, I got a call from Xandria Ooi to be on her 4pm show!!!! Damn! Everything happened so fast! And I was in for the 6pm show! Her daily radio show from 4-8pm is about women...women...women....and yesterday's topic was on domestic helps.

Thanks to a bunch of angels around me, the tires got replaced by 4.45pm.

My Wheels Been Done

And off Caitlin and I to Tropicana City Mall for our show! She slept for a bit whilst I drove and lady luck was on my side. We got there with plenty of time to spare. Caitlin was excited as I was!!!! She was going on and on about radio show! Hahahahahahhaha..............

We had a great time there. Xandria's an AMAZING person. In all my excitement, I forgot to get a picture of her. Her other partner in crime Liang was great too! They made us feel so comfortable.

Looking Back at 2011

As I am sitting here, my little one is watching cartoons to her heart's content. In this last 2 weeks, I've watched or heard so much cartoons to the point of going bananas. Hhaahhaahahhahaha....it's amazing how kids can watch reruns after reruns of them.

Well, as I am sitting here, I was just pondering over the last year and looking at all the pictures I have taken thus far for 2011 or of those that people had taken for me and it's amazing how far we've all come.

My little one has grown so fast and is doing well in school. In fact in all facets of her little life.

Things have been never been stronger between hubby and I. I think after 11 years together, it's a wonder we begin to understand each other compared to the beginning of our relationship. Of course we have our ups and downs; but it's been great! Something I am very thankful and blessed.

Caitlin I and have these awesome times together whenever we're spending 'mummy & daughter' quality time. It is always fun from having manicure and pedicures together or she waiting for me to have my hair done and having meals together. It is always fun and I look forward to many more great times with her even when she grows up.....

My career has taken off so fast and so well that sometimes, I need to pinch myself! Hahahahahhaah.....I love my job and the people that I work with. Same time last year, I actually detested the organisation and the people I worked with and was hoping for a way out and creating in my mind a great place to work in and there in April 2011, I moved to SCB and am having a blast despite the usual work stress and sometimes, when I feel like slapping people or chewing their heads off. I could never be any happier in my career right now. I am at the pinacle of my career and I can't wait to get that overseas posting. It will be AWESOME to be in Dubai...maybe Shanghai...or Hong Kong....or Bangkok....South Korea....hhhhmmmmm......the list of countries are endless for a 2-4 year posting....oooooooooooo......

Honestly, I do love working with the people I work with and it's been perfect in every way though sometimes, I know I try to do too many things at the same time and I tend to chew off people's heads and you know what....I have great friends like Gladys and Kar Hoon and Chris and Alice in the office to put me in perspective. If it is not for them, I will probably go quite mad.....Hhahahaahahahhaa....

Looking back in 2011; I actually have more to be grateful for than to bitch about. Great hubby and daughter....great friends and colleagues....a great career.....am always in great health (of course I do have the general flus every now and then)....everyone around me is safe and happy....

In fact, I cannot ask for more but be very grateful and thankful for all that I have and I know 2012 will be an even GREATER year....................

Maidless For 3 Weeks

This is the time of the year where I am maidless without Yuli for 3 weeks. The dear soul is back with her family for a 3 week holiday. Initially it was supposed to be a every 2 year thing since last year but when she returned early this year after her 3 week break last year, I just didn't have the heart to ask her to wait another 2 years to see her family. So, I decided to make it a yearly affair for her since she is also a Christian; she should be spending her Christmas with her family.

A week plus has passed since she has gone back for her holiday and it's been a breeze so far. No expectations and just going with the flow has just made it very much easy for me. Enrolled Caitlin into her Smart Eater cum Cooking Class for this 2 weeks have been also good as I managed to get things done whilst also sorting out things for the office from home. I guess I am a workaholic. Hahahahahahhahaha.....

Laundries have been sent to the launderette instead of me trying to be a hero like last year to wash and iron. Eeeeewwwww.......absolutely hated it. So, this year I decided to do it differently. No laundry. Just some simple sweeping and locking up the rest of the rooms. Hubby has been a gem to help clean the porch once a week and dealing with whatever he can help.

So, it's been great thus far. So, all is well and splendid!

Nevertheless, I can't wait for Yuli to be back by next week; Saturday. :D

Just a quick update on Caitlin's ballet. It's been a year since she's learned ballet and she's been having so much fun. I remembered like it was just yesterday when I took her to class for a Trial Class and after the class, she came out telling me she wanted to do ballet. So, ballet it was. At that time, her hair wasn't long enough to bun up but now, it is long enough.

With the maid been away for 3 weeks, it can be quite challenging to keep a 4 year old toddler busy and occupied and sometimes, creative as I can be, I do run out of ideas. So when the opportunity arised, I jumped at the chance.

Her kindie was having this 2 week Smart Eater cum Cooking Class programme at her school; and what better way to keep her occupied for 2 hours in the morning??? Awesome! So, I signed her up. So, whilst she's cooking, mummy is religiously waiting for her outside her class catching up with my reading.

It's been a week of classes now and she's been having so much fun. Seeing her run out of class screaming; "Mummy!!!!! I made this today!!!" is nothing but pure joy! I am so pleased with how she has turned out and during this time, I learn so much from her.

She's learned to make milkshake, muffin, bread, pizza and burger. At the same time, she learns what's healthy and what's not with her food.

I had a slice and it was indeed yummilicious!!!!! Well done, my dear!!! You are going to grow up cooking better than mummy!

Specialists Christmas Party

Since I've joined SCB, the team has not had any real official gathering. We had the CSR projects and a movie night but nothing that the whole team could spend some 'real' time together. So, since the team knew I could cook and have been requesting to try my cooking.....I decided to have the Specialists Christmas Party at home.

One...I can gather most of every one together. Two...a good opportunity for the team to mingle since most of the time, everyone is busy getting work done and screeching and cursing when things go bananas! Three...The team gets to try my cooking. Hhahaahahhahahah............ Four...everyone can relax and chill and no one will chase us home unlike restaurants. Five....we can make as much noise as possible and it will not irritate others.

Hubby made his famous Devil's Curry and Fried Kailan whilst I made some of my popular dishes...Cream of Mushroom Soup, Creamy Chicken Tarragon, Cottage Pie, Salad, Sago Gula Melaka and Butter Cookies.

Christmas party is not a party without a Roast Turkey and Yule Log Cake which I went to get. I was not at all planning to roast a turkey! Hahahahahah......

It was a real fun evening yesterday with all the noises and gift exchanges. Even Caitlin was having fun and she had the most presents!!!

As Though I Am Not Busy Enough

Work has been OMG!!!!! Compared to my AmBank and UOB days, it is NOTHING compared to SCB! It's like working literally round the freaking clock. By the time I come home, I am already braindead. Keeping up with my exercise regime has been literally non-existent and must really, really put more effort. For last month and this, I have not even bothered. I am either too tired or am just too bloody lazy to get my ass off the sofa. I would rather rot at home. I don't go salsa anymore....I basically just want to laze around and spend more time with Caitlin.

Hahahahahahahahhahaha........yes, yes, yes. Sounds absolutely pathetic but honestly, I do love my job and thrive on it though at times.....I would love to SLAP some people and put them back in their place but come to think about it; they are not worth my time. At the end of the day, it's their loss or their freaking problem. Muahahahaahhahaha.........

And to add more stress..........I got this in the mail. Was wondering what was this box of parcel which I was to collect?

And my 14 freaking modules of CSA arrived!!!! 14 BOOKS of banking, accounts, lending, projections and God knows what else!!! Gladys nearly puked just looking at it and I have to freaking pass it! Damn it! But once I complete these 14 modules, it gives me better perspective of the lending business and thus expanding my job knowledge from not just the Card business and the Specialists business but as well as the lending perspective which is always the core focus in any banking industry.

Please pray for me!!!! More the reason I am going to be anti-social......

Since Caitlin was 2 or 3, I noticed that she had the interest in art. She always loved to draw or colour; and dance as well. She is somehow more artistically inclined and I wouldn't be surprised if she would head down that path.

So, this year when she started school, I enrolled her into extra art class once a week after school and also into ballet. And she seems to be thriving in her art. Hahahahahhahaha.....and to encourage her further; I get her some quirky art stuffs to do to encourage her more and here is just one of those art stuff that she has done at home............

Breakfasts With Caitlin

Caitlin and I have never actually had breakfasts together unless it was one of those family holidays but to actually go out for breakfast on a Saturday morning or a Sunday morning has never actually happened before.

Two Sundays ago, I just decided to go to Taipan to have some porridge with 'char kuei' which I used to have when I was a child. I would always go with the maid to the market when I was a kid to either buy porridge or 'nasi lemak' whic until today I still love and miss. So, I decided to have breakfast with Caitlin and spend some quality time with her.

We both shared a large bowl of fish porridge while I went to the stall next door to get some 'char kuei' for our porridge. Caitlin had her milo while I had my Nescafe. It was a just great!!!

It just so nice and I have been blessed that Caitlin is a pretty easy child to manage as well. She is generally a good girl and makes me laugh in whatever she does at times....hahahaahahha.....I am so indeed blessed.

Graduation Night for Sri KL 2011

Ok! I was invited by Gerry to attend the Graduation Night oof Sri KL students; Class of 2011. OMG! And we were from Class of 1994. 17 years ago. Held in Dorsett Regency Subang, had to get myself dolled up. Rushed home and got myself ready. With the rain and all.....I was so tempted to stay home knowing Gerry, she would probably KILL me. Muahahaahahahhahahahahahahaha..........

It was a great evening, seeing all these youngsters going up there too perform class by class. Amazing especially was their multimedia presentations!!! I was in absolute awe. Firstly, we never had a Graduation Night....the multimedia presentations for these 17 years olds were FANTASTIC!!! I cannot even begin to imagine when it is Caitlin's turn when she graduates from Form 5, 13 years from now!!!

As part of the Sri KL Alumni, we were judges as well.

Gerry been the President was up there to give away the prize to the best class. Honestly, we both felt all were bloody good in their own way.

Us both dolled up! Hehehehehhehe......not bad, huh?

Royal Lake Club Family Carnival

Looks like last week was an extremely busy week for me. From my visit to Big Bad Wolf Book Fair to a visit to Logos Hope and then on Sunday; to Lake Club's Family Carnival. OMG!!!! It was indeed a busy weekend. I think even hubby was reeling from the weekend activities. But honestly, it is the only time I can drag him away from his precious bed on weekends. Hahahahahahaahahahah...................

I have never bothered much by Lake Club's annual Family Carnival because it has always been just hubby and I; and even when we had Caitlin, she was just tto young. But this year, I felt that at 4 years old, she's ok enough to handle the carnival.

She had an awesome time as you can see and she managed to squeeze in some swim time as well!!!! When hubby and I got home; we both crashed in the sofa......

Logos Hope

When I was a little girl, I used to go for school excursions to buy books on this huge ship!!! Well, at that age, everything was huge!!! Hahahahhahaha...........and it's been over 20 years since I've been on one and it brings back sweet memories because since a child, I have always liked to read and that I have also cultivated in Caitlin.

I had gotten this email from Gerry a few weeks ago with a link that a ship has docked in Port Klang carrying books and after some research; Logo Hope as it is called is the largest floating book fair in the world. It belongs to OM Ships International. The ship visits each port for several weeks each and open the gangways to hundreds and sometimes thousands of visitors each day. On average, over one million visitors have been welcomed on board every year! The floating book fair offers over 5,000 titles, providing many visitors their first-ever opportunity to purchase quality educational and Christian literature.

An international crew and staff of volunteers live and work on the ships. Teams from the ship go into surrounding areas to supply aid and community care. In each port, the ship's crew joins local churches to bring hope and show love to people whatever their circumstance, culture or background.

A great opportunity to introduce Caitlin to part of my childhood as she will get to pick her own books since I didn't bring her for the Big Bad Wolf book fair. And I also just found out that it was also a first for hubby as well.

Big Bad Wolf Book Fair

I am an avid reader. There is hardly anywhere I go with without a book in my car or in my bag. I am always hungry for more information or just plain entertainment. Till to date, I have not been able to bring myself to reading books through the e-Books which seems to be such a craze amongst a lot of fellow readers. I still love the factt that I can just flip the pages as I read....

I have heard about the Big Bad Wolf annual book fairs but have never attended one before and never knew how cheap they were. I guess I am not into large crowds shoving each other to get books but this year I decided to give it a shot after Gladys bought a Princess hardcover book for Caitlin at the price of RM12 which is dirt cheap.

Went after work two Thursdays ago and managed to find the place thanks to Gladys' directions. Parked and changed into my slippers and brought my 2 largest recycle bags. Hahahhaahahhaha........I had a gut feeling that I was going to do lots of book shopping.

Oh wow!!!! Huge warehouse with thousands of books and best part, not many people until it was after 7.30pm and then the crowd started pouring in.

Had a great time by myself. I guess I needed some 'Me Time' and it was great just walking around, taking my own sweet time browsing through books with no care in the world. No worries about Caitlin running around or hubby getting bored because hubby is not into much reading though since he is such an avid Micahel Jackson fan; I got him some really beautiful memoirs.

I shopped till the shop closed and the workers there were real nice and kind to me in helping me with the large amounts of books I bought alone. :)

Am indeed happy with my collection................RM306 for 45 books in total!!!!!

SME Market Outlook

Last week, I was caught utterly offguard at work. As usual, I am always running around for meetings like a headless chicken and lo and behold............I literally stop dead in my tracks!!!

I was asked to represent SME to give a presentation on Market Outlook of SME in Malaysia!!!!!! Damn!!! And I only had 1 day to absorb this and my presentation was to a bunch of Hainanese from Klang! Worst still, I don't even speak Hainanese or even Mandarin and how was I going to get the presentation across to 400 plus Hainan members???

Sigh....so, I decided to speak in Hokkien. Since they are from Klang, they should know how to speak and understand Hokkien. Hahahahahha..

Well...........it WORKED!!! I had the crowd in stitches at least since the first and third speakers spoke in Mandarin. And you know what works?? I am the much younger one. Hahahahahha....

And I got this!!!!!! As a token of appreciation!!! Hahhhhaahhahaha.............

I guess they thought that I am a drunkard........But honestly, from the time I arrived till the end, I was treated like royalty literally. The committee were just absolutely great. Teresa Kok was the VVIP and she is nice to talk to.

One thing is for sure, it was one heck of an experience and now, the RMs want me to speak for the next presentation.....for the Hokkien Association since I am Hokkien. Oh dear............

Caitlin Still Wants Mummy

I always find it fascinating whenever Caitlin still calls for me. I know I don't spend enough time with her and whenever I do; I try my level best to ensure I spend quality time with her.

And this is one of those days where Caitlin is so tired with non-stop playing on a Saturday and she just crashes in my arms. Hahahahahahahaha.............and she is not getting any lighter.

Caitlin's Official First Birthday Party

Looks like this year has been a lot of first times for Caitlin. Since she's been going to school, she seems have all this opportunities of first times and before eyes; she grows up so quickly.....better at conversations...she articulates herself better....her vocabularies have grown by leaps and bounds....she's quicker on her feet...just lots....

Most importantly, she has lots of friends; from school as well as nieghbouring children. Hahhahahaha....so typical of Caitlin. Just like her daddy. Always friendly and courteous wherever they are.

Caitlin just had her first official invitation to a birthday party of her classmate; Megan's 4th birthday on the 9th October.

Excited as she can be... we all went together with Caitlin for the birthday party and as you can see; she was having loads of fun and did a wonderful job on her Limbo Rock. Hahahaahhahahaah...

Finally!!!! Caitlin finally gotten a chance after don't know how many months to spend some time with her godmother who was also the Maid of Honour for my wedding 8 years ago. And the most beautiful part is that Caitlin still remembers and it all just picks up since they last left it.

Had a wonderful dinner at Capricciosa, Pavilion where they serve these awesome pastas and Caitlin will always love her creamy pastas. Just looking at them both made my heart soar.

It was then followed by Smurf, The Movie.

Later, Caitlin and I spent some quality time alone; just mother and daughter. This is what I love best with Caitlin. Just taking some pictures and running around the fountain. It was already 10 plus and like me; we just didn't want the night to end.

And I look forward to many, many more years of this even when she grows up and one day become a young lady.....

Caitlin's First Manicure/Pedicure Session

I try to have a manicure/ pedicure session at least once a month if time permits and whenever I do have; I always bring Caitlin along. She's really good company to be honest. She's easily goes with the flow and eager to go anywhere as long as she's with me. That's one of the things I learn from her....to go with the flow. Normally, she would be playing with my iPhone or do her colouring or writing but this time round; she actually told me that she wanted her nails painted!!!!

Oh dear....what should I do? Well, I just went with the flow. She didn't actually go through the nail cleaning and so forth as she was clean as a whistle but she at least got her nails painted. She also got to choose her own colour....and it was purple with sparkles.....

Thanks to Gerry during one of our Patong shopping trip; she bought Caitlin one off those colourful beach dresses which I wasn't prepare to pay for and been loving as she always is; she took upon herself and bought it for Caitlin. Hahahahahhaha.....

And on the 25th September, hubby had to get up early to make some Devil's Curry for some Pot Luck gathering and both us; mummy and daughter dressed alike.....

Ritmonians First Official Dance Show

Spetember seemed to have been an awfully busy month. Besides Caitlin's school concert, the CSR projects, work, my quick holiday trip with Gerry.....there was also the Ritmonians first official paid show performance.

They had their first debut at the IV Latin Charity Ball on the 24th September 2011 in KL Hilton. Well, my job is to train them on the technical part with more showmanship and of course; been their support line. Hehehehehehehehe.....

Honestly, not bad for first timers.....Most importantly, it is about having fun. If you can't have fun whilst dancing, you shouldn't be dancing at all then. Dancing has to come from the heart. Caitlin's First Concert

So quickly Caitlin grows. It was just yesterday I gave birth to her. And here she is in 2011 having her first sport day and now her first concert.

For the last few weeks prior to her concert on the 24th September 2011; Caitlin has been busy practising her speech and dance at home and the next thing I know it; I am waking up at 6.30am to help her with her make-up and sending her to school to catch the school bus to the concert hall at Chi Wen Chinese School.

Though gaudy as the costumes can be....all the children looked absolutely adorable...full of life...full of promise...full of hope and just so happy.

Caitlin was the leader of the pack. She counted 1..2..3..for the poem reading and 1...2...3... for everyone to bow. Hahahahahahhah.........so like her mummy. Looks like she is born to lead....Whatever it is, as long as she happy, that will be enough for hubby and I.

More CSR Projects

CSR means Corporate Social Responsibility and for 2011; SCB has asked that a minimum of 3 projects are done and so here I was with the SME team in 2 different projects.

The first one on a hot, beautiful morning was the painting of the Old Folks Home for the Women at Ti-Ratana. There were 2 sessions held. One in the morning and another in the afternoon and thank goodness I was in the afternoon one as the painting was indoor. Hehehehehehhehe.....how lucky of me.

It was fun and the camaraderie was great....more pictures are on FB.

The second CSR project was the next day whereby my team of Specialists had arranged a badminton session with autistic children from the teens to adulthood. Another meaningful day for me personally. To see these beautiful people teach all of us a lesson....to be grateful and not take things for granted.

And the best part is that these great people wants us to bring them out again....maybe for some bowling!!! The Specialist Team must have really touched their hearts because I am sure it did touch every single one of ours that day.....

My First Gal Trip

Been a while since Gerry and I had chatted and just about 3 weeks back we were having a chat on Whatsapp and she mentioned that she was going to Phuket and next thing I knew; I was buying an air ticket to Phuket as well. Hahahhaahahhaha.........honestly, I have never done such a thing and in fact; it was quite liberating.

Of course, for the next 2 weeks there were these thoughts of uncertainties and so forth. And then I also came to realise that I had NEVER been on a All Gal Trip before. Whatever and wherever I have gone to had always been with my family, past partners or work related!!!!! Damn!!!! After 34 years am I now only taking a trip with a girlfriend.

We had loads of fun though the weather was so-so with one day been stuck in the hotel but it worked out fine for us because this trip taught be a lot and we really got a chance to catch up.

It's been a week since Caitlin had gotten her car from her daddy. Children are just absolutely great at emulating adults and Caitlin was no difference. A few days back whilst I was relaxing at home, Caitlin was playing at the porch with her car....she suddenly ran into the house and asked me if she could have a piece of the cloth??? Hhhhmmmmm....after saying yes, she happily ran into the kitchen as fast as her little legs could run.

And then whoosh..........she charged out like a little bullet out of the door. So, out of sheer curiosity, I stepped out to watch what she was doing. She was actually wiping her car down and the way she was doing it was EXACTLY like how her daddy wipes down the car. Hahahhahahhaahhahahahaha......

Beach Clean-Up@Pantai Cahaya

In my 4 months plus working in SCB, what I love most about the bank is the various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities it holds. From helping orphans to bringing sight to the blind to helping oold folks....SCB truly gives back to society in many, many ways and I am indeed impressed.

Even in the office pantries, there are recycling bins for papers and plastics; and because of this I have even started collecting plastics at home and sending in for recycling. Hehheheheehhehe.....honestly, I never recycle and never bothered but working in SCB and observing my surroundings; it was time to recycle. :)

So, here was the opportunity to give back to Mother Nature.....cleaning the beach at Pantai Cahaya. Hahahahahha....to be honest, I wasn't too keen on cleaning the beach but I am glad I got my entire team to join in. It was just absolutely lots of fun!!!

Caitlin & Her Sports Car

Hubby has always wanted to buy Caitlin a car of her own but I have always not allowed it as it is so darn expensive. It ranges from RM400 to RM2500 a car!!!! Of course, I will never allow it. Hahahahhaha...

And this time round, hubby actually sneaked behind my back and bought his precious a car. A HOT PINK car! Thanks to China manufactureres, he managed to get it under RM200. OMG!!!

With so much upside down and chaos in our lives, hubby said that he remembered that when he was at her age; his parents were too poor to even put food on the table. Everything was so hard and difficult and that he had to always find carton boxes and old bicycle wheels to put together and play. So sweet of him....

Mochi Sweets @ Tokyo Street, Pavilion

Another food or more like dessert review. Tokyo Street at Pavilion is the all rave now since it's opening late July. It is ALWAYS busy especially during the weeknds but honestly; I find the food pretty pricey though they do have quite a number of good Japanese restaurants.

Came across this long queue. People were queuing for these mochis. Hhhmmmm.....and very expensive mochis indeed. Price ranges from an approximate RM3.50-RM4.00 per mochi and it's known as luxury mochis. With such a queue, it has to be good! And oh yes!!! It was very, very good indeed.

I decided to purchase the gift box of 6 mochis whereby their top sellers are in the gift box. You're not allowed to change mochis or you could purchaase the gift box of 12 mochis where you can get to sample all the mochis. I should have bought 12!!! For hubby who is not a dessert person, he himself whalloped 3 of the mochis.

So, if you are at Tokyo Street and is in the mood for some dessert....go try Sweet Mochi....

New Shanghai @ Pavilion

I love food...I always love food and probably that's why I am in this voluptuous stage all the time. Hahahahha........Came across this little shop which replaced the MOF Dessert shop and I aboslutely LOVE it!!!

It's a quaint little Shanghainese shop which serves paus, dim sum, Chinese desserts, teas and everything supposedly Shanghainese, I guess. But honest to goodness, it wasn't really the shop that caught my attention but these delectable Cotton Cakes!!! I have always loved it since I was a little girl and nowadays, not all Chinese Dim Sum restaurants serve these anymore and when I saw it been sold in New Shanghai....I nearly died of ecstasy!!!! Hehehehehehhehe.......

Well, I have yet to sit down and have a meal at New Shanghai and I will soon but what I have seen thus far isn't disappointing at all and it is pretty full all the time! I love the decors....

Caitlin's First Dental Appointment

Hubby was so sweet. Made arrangements for the whole family for a dental appointment. A first for Caitlin and honestly, I was a bit worried. Got there by noon for our appointment and Caitlin instantly made herself aat home at the clinic.

It's amazing how since adjusts in new surroundings so well which makes it so much easier for hubby and I. After 15 minutes, there we were ushered into the room. Caitlin went up first and she was just so GREAT! I don't recall myself so calm when I was a child visiting the dentist. In fact, I had pretty bad experiences with dentists in general.

Well, Caitlin had her cleaning done and had 2 fillings to do. Dr. Fay was just absolutely great with her and kept her attentive.

SME Offsite 2011

On the 29th July, my department had its Offsite for the year. About 100 of us attended; mainly the Team Managers, key talents and the other support departments that keeps SME business moving. Well, it was one heck of a rainy day from probably starting 5am until when I got to the office at 7.30am. It was still raining! Naturally, the journey started late (which was to be expected). And of course waiting for Bryan who was caught in some really bad traffic. Apparently I was told by hubby that the entire KL was on a standstill on that day.

So, the buses left at 8.40am and my car left at about 9am. Getting out of KL was utter MAYHEM!!! Managed to catch up with the buses at Karak Highway. Had a smooth journey to Swiss Garden, Kuantan.

After a quick lunch, the meeting started!!!!!!!! And lasted till about 5.45pm thereabouts!!!!!!!!

Followed by some telematches which were pretty fun! I actually had a good laugh!!!

Ritmonians Dance Project

For the last 7months or so, the Ritmo Latino Dance School decided to embark on this dance project which there were about 20 of us at final count to train and perform for a show and finally; we had managed to do so last Saturday night. FINALLY!!!!

Hahahahahhaha.....already with so much stress in my life; I had to go add another one. Muahhahahahaha....absolutely suicidal! Nevertheless; a good show was put up last week. The group is split into 2 groups; the Monday group and the Wednesday group. Monday group is a medley of Paso Doble, Hip Hop, Modern, Bachata and Salsa whereas the Wednesday group consists a medley of Jive, Modern, Cha Cha Cha, Merengue and Salsa. Both groups had different themes.

All-in-all, it was a Great night!!!

Well, now back to a more normal life..........................

Came across the preview of this on TV last week and it looked kind of cool. So, I decided to record the first series and boy...was I in for a surprise. It shows on Mondays on Channel 720 at 9pm and indeed....it's pretty cool.

It reminds me a little of the Twilight Saga but only this time; it's about a a teen wolf....and Tyler Posey has indeed grown up to be quite a handsome guy....since his 'Maid in Manhattan' and 'Collateral Damage' when he was just a small boy.

And of course, Tyler Hoechlin is equally as hot!!!!

Finding time to blog has been difficult for the last couple of months. The workload, the activities lined up bith work and personal. Sigh...leaving on a life governed by 2 handphones and calendars is no fun at all. Hahahahahahah.....but in life, we jsut have to make the best of it, don't we???

Anyway, I have meant to blog about this restaurant for quite some time now but never came round to it. Met hubby for dinner at Pavilion and we had no idea what to eat. Due to both our work schedules, we try to at least have a meal or 2 together in a week. So, we decided on this one.

Nice and spacious place with none of the fuss that some restaurants have. The menu was pretty standard whereby most of the dishes are deep fried in breadcrumbs which accompanies with this special sweet sauce. You mix the sweet sauce with some sesame and pound or mash it. Then you dip the meat into the sauce and have your meal.....

I had this pork fillet set which for me was absolutely yummy. They also serve it with prawns and chicken.

So, if you have run out of ideas to have a meal at Pavilion, do drop by at Tonkatsu. And the price is not over the top which I always worry about when eating at Pavilion. Hahahhaahahahha................

Caitlin's 2nd Semester Report Card Day

Since Caitlin started school, I have not been able to go for her first semester report card due to a full workload at SCB. Hahahahahahaha......they seem to have this tendency of working people to the ground.

Anyway, I made it a point to go for her second semester Report Card day yesterday.

It was real great to see her progress and all the work she has done thus far from all the books that the teacher had shown me in our quick discussion. From a C student in the previous semester with only a few Bs here and there, she has moved up to all Bs this semester....even for her Mandarin classes. For a little girl who does not even speak a word of Chinese; she seems to have adapted quite well in Chinese classes and seems to be one of the quick learners.

I am absolutely ecstatic!!!! Hahahahahhaha.....my little girl is doing well in school. Not just with her work but in general she is a very happy girl in school and well loved by all teachers and other parents.

Of late, there's been all this craze over cheap coupons to redeem at many outlets from restaurants to travel to facials to spa to hair treatments and the list goes on. So, I decided to join the bandwagon and bought this coupon from Glamor House. For RM88 instead of RM400 plus, I got a manicure, hair colour treatment and hair treatment which is absolutely cheap. All I needed to do was add another RM40 for a haircut though the normal proce of a haircut is RM80.

Located in a bungalow in Bangsar, an absolutely well decorated place. It is like a one-stop beauty centre from facials, slimming treatments, massages, manicure and pedicure; and hair spa.

Excellent service and really friendly staffs.

I highly recommend this place.

Passed The 3 Months Mark

Wow!!! I just passed the 3 months mark at Standard Chartered Bank (SCB). No kidding! Time has absolutely flown by without me realising it. It has absolutely kept me so busy. I had always thought in my previous banks, I was already busy enough and now here in SCB, it's just gone haywire!!! Hahahahahhahaha....

Last month was just full of traveling to conduct all the Cash Management trainings to the RMs. Then, the visitation of the Regional Head as well as the Global SME Head. It's just been a crazy June month hence the very, very pathetic number of blog updates!!! Haahhahha....

And now for July, I just had my appraisal and it was GREAT!!! Thank goodness all the bosses are happy including the regional and group ones. Hehehehehhe....I was literally in Cloud 9.

Besides been on Cloud 9, I thought it would be a quieter this month....but Oh No!!! It sure is not going to be a quiet month. It's going to be a HECTIC month. Have to complete all the mid year reviews for all the staffs; have to study all the financial packs and understand it ALL........There's also the Liverpool match....the SCB Family Day....the SME teambuilding....outing with my staffs for July month....OMG!!!!!!!

Besides work stuff, there's also the crazy personal stuffs.....the salsa performance...and whatever else may be lined up.

I so need another BREAK!!!! Hahahahahahhahaha.....................

Busy June

If you all have been wondering what on earth has been going on with me and why so quiet??? I have been DARN busy. Busy till the end of time. Hahahahahahahha....this month is an absolutely crazy month. It's not my personal life that's keeping busy. It's still pretty much normal.

It's my working life!!!! OMG!!!! I'm doing nothing but traveling like a headless chicken and attending meetings after meetings and here I am now at my desk; chomping on some bread for lunch and updating my blog. Damn sad, right??? Hahhahaah....but honestly and truthfully; I am doing great at work. The usuals that still do annoy me but I'm getting the hang of the pace here compared to my Citi days which was worst. So, I have Citi to thank for, for such a fabulous 8 years of training. I'm actually been quite sarcastic here. Hehehehe.....

Anyway, if you're wondering if I'm ok, I am and am looking forward to great things to happen. :D

How 2 Months Fly By

Things have been so hectic for me on all angles that I've just realised a couple of days ago that I've been working in SCB for 2 months now. It's been a heck of a crazy 2 months but thus far; I've been enjoying it. Not that it has been a bed of roses nor would I say I wouldn't have wanted to strangle some of the people that I have encountered but nevertheless I really do enjoy working in SCB. It can be real tiring and frustrating but one thing's for sure; it keeps me on my toes and keeps my brains ticking. I am constantly strategising and looking at how to better what SME does and I am having a ball of a time to have that kind of opportunity.

And on another good side; it is always nice to have someone I know working together and understand to a certain extent how crazy my work is. Hahahahahahaha....Gladys joined my bank about a month back and sits right in front of me. She handles the administrative part of things and does her best with Lay Ting to ensure the heads of SME go to the right meetings and ensure the administrative part of the department is run smoothly. I honestly don't know how the 2 of them manage the heads' calendars because I would have have probably gone nuts!! I can't even manage my own to the point my personal life is now listed on a calendar, too. Hahahahahahahahha............

We were both talking the other day over lunch that lunch time is the only time we can catch up with our personal stuffs like checking our personal emails, having a look into FB and God knows what else because where we work, there is no time to even go to the damn toilet. Hahahahahah.....

How am I doing so far in SME? Well, I would say I'm doing well. Been known now as a no nonsense lady boss with low tolerance for nonsense and to some of the funny Team Managers....I am like a teacher since I've been conducting trainings.

Well, am going nationwide this month to conduct trainings and meet important clients whilst I'm there and it begins tomorrow with Penang.....crazy...crazy....crazy schedule!!!

Our Short Trip to Phuket

A trip that came at the most appropriate time for the whole family. For Caitlin since it was a school holiday and for hubby and I because we've been under so much duress in whatever way you could possibly imagine. We had this chance to recce Phuket and had excellent service from the ground handler and I now have a better idea of how Retro can put up a more comprehensive package for groups to Phuket be it a group trip or a family trip and I have some personal anecdotes to add to based on travelling trips.

My little girl here had her first Sports Day held yesterday at a badminton stadium. She was just absolutely bubbling with excitement!!!!

For us parents, it was absolutely hot with no fan or air conditioning because it was held in a badminton stadium but from the looks of it, only the children were having a blast. Hahahahahahha.....

Belanga Cafe @ Empire

After half a day at Kidz Sports with Caitlin; and after successfully getting her out of the place....we decided to go try out this cafe called Belanga Cafe located at the Upper Ground of Empire Shopping Gallery. A quaint little shop that serves authetic Malay Cuisine.

We had their signature dishes which was absolutely yummy from the Nasi Kerabu to the Nasi Dagang and the Nasi Tumpang which hubby and I tried all.

For me, the Nasi Dagang was good except for the fish. It had this fishy smell which I am not used to. Probably in future I will order the chicken or the beef. The Nasi Kerabu with Ayam Percik that hubby had was yummy in my opinion though hubby didn't think it was great because it wasn't like those sold at the night markets. For me, it tasted yummy!

But the Nasi Tumpang was AWESOME! I really loved it. They sell it with the ones with prawns as well as with fish. So, it is entirely your choice which one you would prefer.

So, if you are game to try something a little different; go give Belanga Cafe a shot. Prices are pretty reasonable.....

Caitlin has been cooking her own meals lately; of course with Yuli's assistance. Yuli had told me Caitlin has been showing an interest in cooking and I had told Yuli to allow her to but with full supervision. And she has been helping and learning to cook her own meals over the last couple of weeks. She even now helps with the baking.

Well, I managed to catch her cooking her lunch just now and a very dedicated little chef. She cooked her own chicken nuggets and made her own soup.

Watched this movie last night. Paul Bettany seems to have this knack of acting in Christian related movies from Da Vincci Code to The Legion and now Priest. Great action in this movie. Nothing out of the ordinary kind of movie....just a good guy going after the bad and to save the world. But I do indeed like Pau Bettany and there was Maggie Q as well in the movie.

Women Weekly Family Day!!!

Every Saturday, it is Ballet Day for Caitlin as well with some croissant before class and McD after class. Got this email notifcation a couple weeks back about Women Weekly's Family Day which was held yesterday and decided to give Caitlin a miss of ballet because No. 1.....she will love her time spent at Kiz Sports; No. 2....it was held at Empire Galleria which is in Subang which is near where I live.

And boy....did Caitlin have fun. We started the day early and the queue had already started because the first 100 children there would be able to get in FREE and we managed to get in free. Hahahahah....and the moment we registered, she rushed in and literally went amok all over the gym. Hahahahahaha.....and mummy just sat on a stool and just chilled and caught up with my news on my iPhone.

Caitlin's First 'Teacher's Day' Celebration

This year, Caitlin officially celebrates her first Teacher's Day and as usual, mummy will need to rush around to get a pressie for her teacher as well as a card; and also get some food for her to share with her friends whilst celebrating Teacher's Day with her teacher.

Thank goodness, Gladys was there to help me or else I would ahve probably taken the whole entire lunch hour to get something for Caitlin's teacher. This is what we finally decided for Caitlin's teacher. Hhhmmm....somehow I seem to have problem rotating this pix.

And for snacks, I managed to get those baby J.Co Donuts for her to share with her friends.

ChaTime @ Pavilion

For people who know me well, you would know that I am a 'Dessert Whore'. Probably that's why I can never seem to keep my weight off. Hahahahahahahhaha...... I have always had these sweet teeth. I have the willpower to turn down savouries but never desserts! And absolutely love these Taiwanese Bubble Pearls; gooey little black balls which can sometimes work out quite a jaw exercise though hubby absolutely hates them.

I was told that there was a Bubble Pearl shop at Pavilion and trust me, I was anxious to find out but never had the time to go hunting around Pavilion. So, I normally settle for Snow Flakes Bubble Milk Tea which is equally as good though kind of boring after a while. Thanks to Gladys who saw it and not only smsed me to tell me about it but photographed it as well!!!!

Happy!!! Ecstatic!!! You name it!!! Now I can absolutely have my pearl fix! And it's called Chatime!!!!

They have absolutely all kinds of drinks and if that particular drink has no pearls in it, you can always add them for RM1 extra. It comes in 2 sizes; Regular or Large.

On Tuesday evening, I had this Red Bean in Milk Tea....

On Wednesday evening, I had Roasted Milk Tea. Absolutely yummilicious!!!

I wouldn't mind having different Pearly drinks on a daily basis. Such a stress reliever for me especially after a hard's day work. I don't even need dinner. Just a Pearly drink will keep me sane. Well, I did manage to sneak it out of the house without her knowledge and I bought these flowers to compliment the beauty of her artwork.

I seem to be updating things very late; not so 'real-time' like before. Things have just been CRAZY!!! And it has been CRAZY for the past month. Hehehhehehehe....work...work...work.... I try to at least squeeze in some exercise wherever I can besides the dance training because my weekends are literally spending with my family or just plain rotting at home. I am beginning to love the word....ROTTING...rotting at home. Hahahahahaha......

Anyway, back to the title....Caitlin & Her New Hot Sunnies....

This is her new pair of hot sunnies; compliments of Aunty Gladys who always buys her these little stuffs. A colouring book here...a little dress there whenever Aunty Gladys goes on a trip and now a hot pair of sunnies and she was thinking of buying 2 pairs if they had adult ones for her and myself.....hmmmmm....don't think I'll be ever be caught in them!

Diversion & Inclusion

This world is a vey colourful world filled with lots of diversity across all races, religion and so forth. With all these diversity, it makes the world a more interesting place to live in but also, it sometimes comes with a price when people do not respect others's ethnicities and religions thus creating all kinds of animosity in lives around them.

Anyway, in SCB there is zero tolerance for disrespect for others regardless of race, religion, gender and even sexual preferences. Well, I generally come across biasness in all forms in any organisation but the sexual prefrences have always been a topic that most organisations shy away from especially when it comes to the gay, lesbian or transvestite communities. It always seems to be some big TABOO subject. And most organisations do not tolerate people who are in these orientations. Strange.....why not? Why can't people or organisations be tolerant and be respectful of other people's sexual preferences? Aren't we all creations of God?

Anyway, I was pretty stun with what I saw on Friday at work. There was this big board for people to sign their support and respect all diversities especially coming to others' sexual preferences whatsoever.

This is what caught my eyes and here's people of SCB showing their support to respect others and most importantly been confident of one's own sexual orientation......

So cool....absolutely really cool!!!!

One Month Has Passed

A month has passed since my joining SCB and it's been a real challenge in this organisation. A real great leaning curve not just for my career but especially for my personal development when it comes to dealing with people.

In fact, I think that my learning to deal with people is the greatest gift for me in SCB. Learning to work with all kinds of people from all levels. It's a constant challenge because not every person in an organisation is or have the same personality and trying to run everyone towards the same direction can be really trying but I must say I have done pretty well thus far though my people are really stretched to the max. But I rather hire the right people for the job than to simply hire for the ssake of filling the role.

During my own personal journey, I have consciously tried to be aware of my surroundings and to realise that every person around us is a mirror of myself and how I think and see is going to be the outcome of what I get on the outside. So, basically everything begins with me. Of course, it is easier said than done but it does get easier with practise.

What have I realised??? I am not as freaked out as I used to be. I am generally more calm and just go with the flow because I believe everything happens for a reason. Nothing is of a coincidence.

Well, it has been a really hectic time for me. Probably since I'm now in the management level and the meetings are really daunting. I miss all my sales calls; going out to visit clients and close deals. Hahhahahahaha.....but I guess it comes with the job. :D

But ultimately, I do love my job....the responsibilities though quite daunting at times.....the people around me.....the organisation's direction.....

Watched this last Saturday with hubby. Absolutely AWESOME and a real adrenaline rush. The last one wasn't so fantastic though the action is normally great but this Fast Five is really good! Good action....lots of laughter....good stroryline........and hot guys like Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson!!!! Bliss....utter bliss....though in this movie, I prefer Vin Diesel. Hahahahahahhahahahha.......

Water for Elephants

It shows how outdated I have been and how busy I have been from the "What's Happening in Town". My girlfriend Gerry told me that she would like to watch Water for Elephants and I just said ok without realising what it was. Well, honestly...I rarely ask her about movies anyway. If we hang out and if she wants to watch, I'll just go....no questions asked.

And this morning, I was just checking my emails and having a look at this Water Elephant show on GSC and lo and behold!!!!!!!!! It is a movie by Robert Pattinson!!!!! Aaaaarrrggggghhhhhhhhhhh............I am officially now on Cloud 9 now. I am DEFINITELY gonna watch it even if I go alone. Hehehehehhehe.....and Pavilion is just right next door to my office.

Easter at Food Foundry, Inlaws' & Pavilion

Hubby and I have this thing for food and most importantly, spending some quality time with Caitlin. 2 weekends ago was Easter and we decided to have brunch at Food Foundry before going over to visit my mother in-law at Gombak.

Absolutely love the food there. Had their 'Nasi Lemak'. In fact, all three of us had 'Nasi Lemak'. Yes, you read correctly, Caitlin had 'Nasi Lemak', too. Only thing I told them to do was remove the 'sambal' and separate the curry chicken away. And did she attack her meal with relish and yes, she finished the whole curry drumstick. It had a bit of spice but wasn't entire;y spicy. Such a brave girl!!! Here is Caitlin attacking her 'Nasi Lemak' with relish.

Mother and daughter both had a Mille Crepe Cake for dessert. She refused to share and wanted a chocolate one while I had the durian one. Looks like both mother and daughter has sweet teeth! Hahahahahhahaha.....Look at those delectable cakes. We were having so much fun.

Durian Fiesta & Quality Time with Caitlin

2 weeks ago on the 16th April 2011, my ex-colleagues were planning a trip to Bentong for some durians. Much cheaper than having them in KL especially the 'Durian Musang'. Since Caitlin had no ballet that day, we decided to join my ex-colleagues.

At the eleventh hour, hubby couldn't make it because of a function in PD. So, looks like it was a mummy and daughter day out. And.....IT WAS GREAT!!!

Though it was a wet, wet morning, we stopped at McD for some breakfast 'to-go' for her and caught up with my friends at Genting Sempah. It was just great having a chatty Caitlin keeping me company; telling me about her day at school and all her friends at school. Hehehehhehe...she's just absolutely adorable.

The durians at Bentong were AWESOME! RM30 to eat all you can and I sure ate all I could. Hahhahahahha.....Caitlin though wasn't too interested with it but she was sharing her Cheezels with a new fellow friend.

And after all the durian fiasco, my dearest daughter actually told me she didn't wanna go home and wanted to go watch a movie....flying birds. Hahhahahahahaha....it was actually Rio and so to Pavilion we went. Thank goodness there were still tickets available. Hahahahahahahha.....and I managed to be the hero of the day!!!

Rio was a pretty cool cartoon...all the colourful and lovely birds.

Then, some shopping for a Hello Kitty watch and then some dinner at TGIF. A very happy Caitlin here with her new watch and having one of her favourite meals....Fish & Chips.

It was an absolutely fantastic day with Caitlin. Though I was tired like no tomorrow with all my late nights in the office, I am so glad I decided to spend this day with Caitlin further after the durian fiesta though I would have LOVED to go home for a nap.

It's moments like these that keep me sane, keeps me grounded and that it is so easy to please my daughter. By just been there for her and be really there for her when we spend time together. It's not the quantity of times we spend together but the quality. No point just been there everyday but we're actually 'not there' for them emotionally and mentally. Children do know and it's best not to underestimate their intelligence.

Well, there'll be lots more of quality time together and I look forward to them as much I know Caitlin does, too!

Caitlin & Hello Kitty

Caitlin had been lately very interested in the Princess series and now, all of a sudden....she has been swinging towards Hello Kitty! Hahhahahhahha....friends' influence, I guess. Just the week before last, I managed to get her a Hello Kitty watch which cost RM20 (not too bad) from Parkson Pavilion. There was just so ma ny to choose from and all of sudden during the week, she was jabbering about Hello Kitty handkerchiefs!!!! Aiya!!!! Knowing the Sanrio brand, I knew it was going to cost me an arm and a leg and lo and behold!!!!! It did!!!!!! OMG!!!!! These kitty cats are really expensive!!!!

We took her to Pavilion yesterday after spending some time at my inlaws since it was Easter. Since the shop had run out of handkerchiefs, she ended choosing an umbrella and a purse! RM67 for an umbrella???? I was literally freaking out. Not as though I am minting money but RM67 for an umbrella???? My umbrellas at home are FREE!!!!!

Hubby was just shaking his head. Hahahahahahahahha................

I guess in a way, I couldn't say 'no' to Caitlin. Firstly, she hardly asks for things from me. Secondly, I used to love Hello Kitty when I was a child and my mother never allowed me to have them for whatever reasons though my parents were pretty well off then. Somehow, I just didn't want Caitlin to feel deprived of what she really like and looking at her glow with happiness.....this Hello Kitty was worth it!

My New Job

Have been real quiet for the last couple of weeks because I have just been absolutely BUSY!!! I hardly seem to have the time to even take a breather since I have taken this offer with SCB. I had recently moved to SCB for a great career opportunity and thus far; it has been absolutely great though I have quite a few things to get used to though. But people here are great, too though as usual there are always this one or two funny characters.

This bank has so many meetings!!! I attend at least 5-6 a day and have no idea how my boss handles his since he has more meetings than I do. Hahhaaahhah....I like the fact that though my boss is pretty stressed up with lots of work to do; he never fails to have a lovely smile on his face. And I know for a fact he is stressed up as well. I like the fact that he pushes his one downs to ensure that all staffs go home early if it is not necessary to stay. That's a good boss which I was and am still pleasantly surprised.

So, if I have been quiet and not very good in keeping in touch; my apologies. Hehehehehehhehe.....nevertheless, I am doing well but just busy like crazy. Whatever free time I have during the weekends are for Caitlin and hubby and if I had the chance; I just wanna rot at home and not do anything!!! Hahahahahahahhaah.......

Lammeeya @ Empire

Hubby wanted to try out some of the restuarants at Empire and off we went there for dinner and ended up at Lammeeya. A yummilicious restaurant which specialises in Lam Mee and of course, they serve other delectable food.

The food was really good. I had noticed many people had walked in and left threafter when they realised the restaurant was out of Lam Mee and it was only 8.30pm. So, if you are heading there over the weekend, better be there earlier to avoid disappointment.

This is the second time since I've had a meal at Serai and as usual, the food is absolutely delectable. This time

I at least brought my camera. Had a great evening with my girlfriend and it's great to share food besides sharing gossips. Girls will never be girls without some gossip, isn't it?

We had these drinks, a Minted Calamansi for her and a Honeydew Blast for myself. Hmmmm....refreshing and yummy!

We shared the all-time popular Nasi Kerabu and the Middle Eastern Medley which is actually lamb shank. Both were equally as yummilicious. We were so stuffed with the main course but we still forged ahead with our desserts.

A Conversation with Caitlin

Today is no different Saturday from the rest. The usual regime is taking Caitlin for some Chocolate Rolls before ballet; waiting for her at ballet and a meal of McD with her. I am sssssssoooooooooooo......sick of McD nowadays. Hhahhhahhahahah....

Anyway, my conversations with her never ceases to amaze me and leaves me in stitches and today was one of them. I don't know how the conversation shifted to about cars but here it went.

Mummy: So, what colour car would you like to have when you are old enough to drive?
Caitlin: A pink one, mummy!
Mummy: A pink one? Are you sure?
Caitlin: Yes, mummy. I want a pink colour car!
Mummy: So, I would assume Caitlin will be driving to school then when you have your pink car?
Caitlin: Yes, Caitlin will drive to school and mummy and kakak will wait at home.
Mummy: So, do you want a 2 door car or a 4 door car?
Caitlin: 2 door (she should be her 2 pudgy fingers)
Mummy: So, would you prefer a big car or a small car?
Caitlin: A small car, mummy of course!!! I'm a small girl and I can only drive a small car, you know!!!!

You know, resignations in a company is never easy but generally I have never had much problem but this time round, it was much harder than I had expected. I guess I had a lot to consider.....the role that I will be moving to....the people I leave behind....the capabilities of taking up this challenging role....so many questions running in my mind. Hmmmmmmm.........................

Anyway, it has been done and I will be leaving my next Monday. Phew.....what a relief! I hope I will never have to do this in a long...long...time.

I am indeed looking forward towards taking this role. The learning curve is going to be a really broad spectrum and hope this will propel me to the next level of my career. I am indeed very blessed with my hubby's support and friends around me who is rooting behind me despite my insecurities. It's going to be indeed a really interesting but challenging role. And I am looking forward to be working with such a diverse group of people and learning from all of them. There is never one that is more superior than the other but you will be surprise on how much you can learn from one another.

Well, I will have a short break to get my bearings straight and then it is forging ahead........

Croissant & Coffee @ Putra Heights

Looking for somewhere quiet and quaint that serves AWESOME pastries? Come over to Putra Heights where in my opinion serves really fresh (out of the oven) pastries. I have meant to check it out for some time but whenever I wanted to, it seems to be closed.

I had the delight to have breakfast with Caitlin yesterday before her ballet class at 'Croissant & Coffee' and my oh my..........the pastries are AWESOME and so fresh.

They only open from Mondays till Saturdays and only up till about 8pm. This quaint little shop is opened by Jess who used to be in sales and because of her love for croissant and coffee, decided to open her own shop.

Here're the array of freshly baked pastries. During my time there, people were streaming in to buy the pastries home whilst there was only 2 tables occupied. Looks like more people does takeaways and fresh pastries were continued to be replenished.

I can't wait to spend some quiet time there when I go on a short break. The place even has WIFI so now I know where I can read and work in peace if I need to and so near home. AWESOME!!!

Wang Wang Nine Steam Fish

Oh my!!! I absolutely love this restaurant. A place that Irene found and introduced to us fellow colleagues. Awesome steam fish and lots more located at Happy Garden. Many a times, I had never brought my camera but today, I did. With just only 6 of us, we had 8 dishes!!!!!! And we finished them all and the grand total.......RM129/= which is really cheap for such a healthy and hearty meal.

You should go try this place if you love fish. The fish would take an average wait time of about 20 minutes and this will also depend on the crowd at that time. I have never had it during dinner so I am not too sure about the crowd at night. Lunch is pretty ok if you can be there by 12noon because the lunch crowd starts pouring in after 12.30pm.

Worth a try........

Erawan Classic Thai & Fusion

I believe many people know about this restaurant but as usual, I'm always want of the last to know but if you, too have not heard about this restaurant, please do check it out. But of course, there're a couple of simple rules.

1. You will need to pre-order 24 hours in advance. You may view their menu at their website.
2. They serve authentic Thai & Fusion food, therefore they don't serve all these chilli sauces and others. You basically eat what they serve you.
3. Be prepared to pay for some pricey food.

I was invited with hubby by Enzo our chef frriend and dinner last night was AWESOME!!! It was a good crowd and we made new friends.

The pictures here don't do justice and I will advise you to still go visit their website. We had about 9 dishes includung the dessert.

Betel-Leaf Snack / Miang Kham
Betel-leaf served with varieties of herbs and a special sauce.

Scallops with Thai Style Sald
Oooo la-la....a pretty spicy dish. It's grilled scallops tops with Erawan's special homemade dressing with fresh lemongrass, shallots and kaffir.

Egg Net Bundles Served with Traditional Filling
A another yummy appetizer which consists of chicken, prawn and herbs served with homemade cucumber salsa. Yummy....yummy...

Erawan's Chicken with Galangal Soup
A soup which is similar to tom yam soup but less spicy. They use galangal, coconut milk, chilli, lime and lemongrass. Something very different for me........

Erawan's Panaeng Beef Curry
Something like a rendang and the beef was absolutely yummy and tender. Not those hard and chunky ones.....

Boneless Roasted Duck Curry
Oooooo......I loved this dish. The roast the duck, slice it and then cook it in curry. I loved this!!!!!

There was this prawn dish which was also absolutely yummy!!!! But I can't seem to recall what is it called. Hmmmmmm......

Sitr Fried Hong Kong Kailan with Salted Fish
The usual common vege.

For dessert, we had this trio combination. A special treat specially made for our group.

Thea's Birthday Party

A wonderful occasion for little Thea who turned 5. Held at Fit4Two for lunch and then more play time at Kids Sports at Bangsar Village II. It is EVERY child's dream! I know one thing's for sure. It was Caitlin's dream come true! To play and play and play and play till the end of time. Can you imagine, we left together with the birthday girl??????? Hhahhahhahahahahhaha........

Caitlin Turns Four

On the 4th March last Friday, my little gem turned 4 years old. Hehehehehhehe.....this 4th year of hers has been a pretty exciting one for her. She started kindergarten....she started ballet....made lots and lots of new friends in school and I'm looking forward to seeing her blossom into a wonderful girl. She has been nothing but pure joy; not just for hubby and I but for so many people who have come into contact with. She is everyone's angel.

This year, we decided to have her birthday at school since it would be the first time for her to celebrate with all her friends. The last few years, it was always celebrated with mummy and daddy's friends. Since it is Her birthday, it would only make sense for her to celebrate with her friends.

She had a desired birthday cake which thanks to Aunty Terri who baked wonderful Princesses cupcakes for her. I had all the Princess party packs ready but got the boys Bob, The Builder instead. Didn't want the poor boys to endure with Princesses as well.

Dinner was just a quiet event at Buonasera so that she could have Uncle Enzo's Fish & Chips and Mushroom Soup.

So, here goes another year and let's see what my darling will want for her next birthday.

Ah Koong Eating House

Another yummy restaurant which I have been going to for a while now. They have 2 outlets from what I know thus far; one next to Shaw Parade in Pudu and another at USJ 9 Taipan.

They serve the usual noodle soup which can be dried or the soupy ones and comes in either normal soup, tomyam or curry with a wide variety of noodles to choose from. Of course, they have the additional stuff which you can add like 'yong tau foo' stuff, oysters, clams, fish, prawns and many, many more. So, it can be quite mind boggling at times.

I had the soupy 'loh shee fun' whilst hubby had his dry noodle with curry soup.

I had this additional 'yong tau foo' stuff and the fish in ginger soup and this deep fried fish cake. Apparently, they're really famous for the prawn cakes but we never get to eat them in the evenings because it is always sold out by then. Heheheheehhehehe......

A Visit to Rumah Sejahtera Jenjarom

On the 27th February 2011, a sunny afternoon, hubby, myself, Caitlin and 2 friends of hubby's from BNI and families made a trip to Jenjarom to visit some old folks. It's been a while since hubby and I have visited them. We had started visiting them since I was pregnant with Caitlin. Sometimes, we bring 'tong sui' for them, sometimes some home cooked food and once Caitlin's fullmoon food.

This time round thanks to my friends, I managed to raise RM480 to buy goodie bags for the old folks. Snacks and so forth for them.

It was great to see them and some of them remember and recognise hubby and me and of course; Caitlin. Hahahahahahah....who can forget her??? Here's Caitlin doing her little bit for society.

It was a short and wonderful trip. Next time round, we'll probably deliver some 'tong sui' and snacks for them.

Caitlin is one little girl will LOADS of expressions and she never fails to tickle all the aunties and uncles with an abundance of laughter. I never actually realised how full of expression she was until many people had commented all the way to from a really, really sad face to a very, very happy face or maybe a very, very cheeky face....

Body Shop - Earth Lovers

I use a lot of Body Shop products and have been for many years. The prices are reasonable and I like the fact that Dame Anita Roddick takes into consideration the well being of the earth and the animals. She uses recycled bottles and encourages people to recycle and her products are free from animal testing. There is just a lot of things I like about the Body Shop motto.

Anyway, they have just launch this new 'earth lovers' range of shower gel which is absolutely yummilicious. For only RM29.90, it is a 100% biodegradable shower gel. It is soap-free and there are just so many flavours to choose from.

I am currently using the Watermelon & Eucalyptus flavour and it smells sssssooooooo......GOOD!!!

So, if you're looking for some nice smelling shower gel which is environmental friendly, do go check it out!

If you are wondering why I've been so quiet and have not been having my usual blogging.......I have just been so busy. So much have happened over the last couple of weeks. Some eventful....some not so...but nevertheless, all an experience.

Cooking is also something that I have not really had the desire to do as well. Exercises have been shoved into the closet until next month where all Hell will break loose. Hehehehehheheh.....

Coupled with the fact that I have also been unwell and work has been piling, the usual KPIs for the year 2011 and I've been running like a headless chicken; sitting behind a laptop to blog my day doesn't seem to be part of the agenda for the meantime.

I've also been busy catching up on my readings, reviewing my bestie's peoms (they're really good)......performing my wifely and motherly duties to hubby and Caitlin; it's enough to keep me on my toes.

But believe me, I do have quite a bit to blog but will blog them later. Some recommended products and some bitching about services.......

Valentine at Buonasera

Been so busy lately that I have not managed to update any of my blogs. Hehehheehhe....a little about our Valentine though nothing big. Since hubby and I have birthdays very close to Valentine's Day, we did a 3-in-1 celebration 'makan' session at one of our favourite haunts; Buonasera.

This is our 11th Valentine celebration together. It's amazing, isn't it? I, too find it amazing as well. How time flies and in this 11 years, we have a wonderful daughter together. How much greater can things be? Honestly, I could never ask for more. Whatever the ups and downs and I'm sure hubby sometimes DOES wanna murder me; I have no regrets marrying this man. He's been my pillar, my biggest critic, my comfort, my anchor, my lover and most of all...my most loyal companion.

We had the Valentine's Specials.

We had this yummy Prawn Bisque Soup, a special which is normally not served on its normal menu.

Ok, this is hubby's all-time favourite 700gm Steak which I shared some. A bit too bloodied for my liking.

And of course, our desserts............................YUMMY!!!!

One of huuby's BNI friend joined us much later after our dinner whilst we were still chatting with Enzo and The Woos joined us thereafter. Hahahahahhahaha......it is always fun catching up with them!!!

Hubby and I went home a happy couple with good food and good company......that's how we spent our 3-in-1 birthdays and Valentine......

I was just trying to catch some CNY pix around the house and Caitlin started asking permission to take the pictures instead. Hehehehhehe...I think all kids go through these kind of phases. Of me.....a blur me since I've been in the kitchen since 10.30am. First, I made Cottage Pie for lunch for the family. Then, Mae calls and invites us all for an impromtu birthday party of Isabelle's and I volunteered to make another pie though chicken this time. Whilst making the pie, I decided to make Sago Gula Melaka as a dessert since I have been dying to make this particular dessert. By the time I was done with another pie and the dessert, it was already 4.30pm. I was ready to keel over! Hahahahahha......

Caitlin & Her Lady Gaga Sunglasses

About a month back, Caitlin broke her Mickey Mouse sunglasses and was highly insistent of us getting her a new pair. I can't really recall where she went with hubby but she wanted these awful pair of sunglasses and insisted hubby paid for it.

Hubby knew that I would absolutely dislike it but there was no way to convince our dear Caitlin when her mind is set. One thing's for sure, she knows how to make a fashion statement and loves to be unique; and isn't afraid to STAND OUT just like Lady Gaga. Look at her with such ease......

In a way, this horrendous pair pair of sunglasses have grown on me.
